What was created in January of 2005 - an attempt to bring together heartbreaking stories with loving individuals - has turned into something far different. What has happened is a greater realization of what is broken. So our purpose and adventure have taken a detour. We are recommitted to improving the problem that lies at the very foundation of our culture and society: the issue of connectedness. The idea that we fail to connect with the sorrow of an individual unless it is presented to us on a screen, larger than life, with every bit of sorrow squeezed out of every heartrending face. Unfortunately, only then do we find enough value to make it worth our hard earned money and highly valued time, to step out of apathy even for a moment.

Therefore, Mathitis will be on hiatus for the time being. Until we can find a way to improve the way our society looks at the idea of charity... Until we can find a way to improve how people are truly connected to the heart of giving... Until we can find a way to impact the small villages around the world more effectively... Until we create this better process... We will be silent because we must first learn ourselves before we can teach others.

Our hope is that we will resurface soon, once we identify some answers as to how we can best connect people of prosperity to those in need. Until then, you may continue to reach us at info@mathitis.org
